Review important innovations being developed to decrease wait-list deaths, increase the number of organs used and optimize perioperative outcomes. 

Identify novel strategies to reduce the frequency of major complications within the 1st year of transplantation to maximize patient and graft survival rates. 

Discuss issues in the long-term care after liver transplantation and novel monitoring/treatments.

Identify the management options available for common liver problems and the benefits and risks of each approach.

Recommend optimal management of patients with common liver problems and engage patients in shared-decision making.

Identify risk factors for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and initiate the appropriate management according to the published guidelines.

Manage complications of cholestatic liver disease.

Distinguish between primary and secondary iron overload and to select the appropriate therapy based on the guidelines.
